Description
U.S. President Donald Trump embarked on his first official trip to Asia in November 2017, visiting five countries over 12 days. The itinerary included a stop in China, where President Xi Jinping had emerged from October's Communist Party Congress stronger than ever. In his second term, Xi was expected to continue his quest to make Beijing Asia's undisputed seat of power, while extending his own power at home. Xi's interactions with Trump were closely watched. On the even of the trip, WPR compiled 10 articles detailing Xi's vision for China and what it would mean for the region.
Editor's note: All undated time references are in relation to each article's publication date, which is noted at the top of each article.
