This short story, set in the universe of the Between the Worlds series, takes place between the 5th book 'Fairy Gifts' and the 6th book 'Dark of Winter'.
Elves take the game of chess as seriously as physical fighting, so when Jessilaen suggests a chess match to Bleidd the other elf is worried that play could quickly turn into combat. His solution is a suggestion of his own, that they modify the elven game along the lines of human 'strip poker'. Strip chess is a novel idea, but will the game be the lighthearted fun that the two want or will their instincts make it dangerous for them both?
And what will Allie think when she gets home?

This story was the result of a fan challenge to write a story based on the idea of 'strip chess' that would offer more backstory for the main elven characters. It appears on my blog and is included as a bonus in the novel 'Dark of Winter'. I hope readers who like the series enjoy.
