Description
John 1:1 is arguably the most talked about and debated Scripture in the entire Bible. Take note of the three main ways this Scripture has been translated:
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." King James Version/Douay-Rheims (God here is Definite)
"In the beginning the Word existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was divine." Goodspeed/Moffatt (divine here is Qualitative)
"In the beginning the Word was, and the Word was with God, and the Word was a god." New World Translation/Abner Kneeland (god here is indefinite)
It is this last translation that has garnered more invective than most others, and it is the one that I will be focusing on in this book.
This book has 35 chapters, There may be some repetitiveness as similar arguments are used by different authors so I beg your forgiveness and patience, but I promise there is much to digest in this book.
