"Amy?" Abraham called out to his Fraa the moment he entered the Haus.
Usually, she was working in the kitchen or sitting and waiting for him when he got home after a tiring day in the fields, but that day, no response greeted him. It took him a moment to realize why. The strange noises coming from the toilet were the first things that drew him there.
"Amy, are you okay?" He asked worriedly as the retching sounds grew louder.
"I... I'll be right out," She called out in a weak voice, as Abraham paced the hallway waiting for her to appear.
The moment she did, he rushed to her, taking in her colorless face and lips and the sweat matted in her brows.
"What happened? Are you okay?" Abraham asked her, his worry apparent in his tone.
"I think I'm ill," Amy replied.
"I have been bringing up everything for the past few days," She said with a sigh.
"Past few days?" Abraham asked,
"Why didn't you say anything to me before?" He continued, his brows furrowed.
"I didn't want to worry you. I thought it was just an upset stomach and it would go away by itself," Amy replied, with her eyes lowered.
The action melted Abraham's heart just like it always did. He loved his Fraa dearly, and the fact that she was sick worried him immensely, but he also knew that taking his anger out on her would achieve nothing.
"We will go to the healer in the village and see why you are feeling this way, okay?" He raised Amy's facet towards himself and smiled reassuringly as Amy nodded.
"Go fetch your Kapp and we'll be on our way." He told her as he went inside the washroom to freshen himself up after the long working day.
Instead of taking their new buggy, they walked to the healer on foot. It was a short walk, for which Abraham was glad. The lack of distance was one of the many things that endeared the village life to him. He loved how everything was just a short distance away. Everyone always knew what their neighbor was up to and people were always ready and eager to help whoever was in need.
As they walked, the fresh and clean air invigorated their lungs and Abraham saw some of the color return to his Amy's face right then.

"You look like you feel better." He commented, and Amy smiled.
