Description
Death (A Christmas Story) is a festive short story set in the same world as Gavin McCallion's debut novel, Grim. In September 1945, Death quit his job. He was knackered, he'd had enough, and he left the human race to do it themselves. For seventy-three years, he lived on the moon. He had a record player, books, the company of the pale horse of Despair (who preferred to be a giraffe), and for the most part, his exile was grand. But then it became apparent that the human race had absolutely no idea how to wield all his power. They took Bowie, Prince, Pete Burns, Alan Rickman, Gene Wilder, Debbie Reynolds, Carrie Fisher, Muhammad Ali and George Michael in one year, after all. Death felt compelled to inform them they were doing it wrong. This Christmas, with the somewhat-forced assistance of Kristoffer Kringle and his naughty list, Death is coming home. This Christmas, he's ruining Christmas. This Christmas, he's going to slay. ~
