Description
In June of 2013 my house burned to the ground in the Black Forest Fire in Colorado. Following the fire my youngest child left home for college. Then I went through a rough divorce which left me alone in a new house. Finally I quit my job which got rid of a lot of other problems, but also got rid of my income. I sold pretty much what I had left and moved to a small house in the mountains.
This is a brief look at the years that followed the fire and what happened to me during that time. It's not guidance or life advice or any of that stuff, and maybe none of it applies to you at all, but if you've been through a disaster in your life I can perhaps offer you some hope. I managed to climb out of the misery pit and restart my life in a much simpler way. I put my wellbeing first, got healthy again, and started traveling. I've never been so stress-free and so happy.
