Description
It is Afghanistan at the start of Operation Enduring Freedom. A simple lie takes two teenage Afghani cousins down completely different paths. Parvez believes his father and cousin to be murdered by Australian soldiers at the start of Enduring Freedom. Instead Hazim's father was murdered by the ruthless warlord Ghan, and Hazim actually survived the encounter. Old Ghan is later killed by Australian soldiers and Parvez, believing Australians murdered his family and now old Ghan, replaces him to become Ghan. He hatches a plot of revenge against Australia for his family and old Ghan. Parvez's outlandish plot has them transporting an old Soviet brief case atomic bomb to Australia. They will attempt to use the nationally iconic train, The Ghan, to take the weapon to a major city.
Hazim befriends Bluey Reynolds a seargent in the Australian army in Afghanistan. Bluey and his team save Hazim from certain death at the hands of old Ghan by intervening during a covert operation. Bluey returns to Australia and Hazim, taking his new girlfriend, breaks out of the Pakistani detention camp and travels to Australia via the perilous people smuggling route. There he finds Bluey who is now a member of the Australian Federal Police and is tracking the mysterious Ghan. Hazim joins Bluey in a dangerous cat and mouse game to find Ghan before he can execute his devilish plot to explode the atomic weapon in an Australian city.
Can they stop the bomb? Who survives?
