Dora flinched as something rubbed against her leg. It was the St. Bernard. He was sniffing at the old widow through the fence.

Just as she was about to turn away, the old woman reached over and grabbed her arm, her grip cold as ice. ''Fucking let go of me!'' The dog jumped up on the fence and started barking. She landed a punch on the woman's bony face, but it wasn't enough to free her. The widow was attempting to literally drag her over the fence, cackling and puffing as she did.
