Description
Based on a true haunting the author and his family experienced.
Held in the desire to improve their lives, and as to break free from the poverty they had come to resent, John Davidson and his family moved to Skipton Road in 2016 with high aspirations. However, they had no idea of what malignant terrors awaited them there. Things appeared normal at first... apart from the pungent smell of rotten flesh in their kitchen, recurring scratch marks along the walls and their flesh, them waking up at the same time every night in a cold sweat to the sound of blood-curdling screams, and an overwhelming sense of always being watched by someone or something.
Overtime, through vivid nightmares and intrusive whispers, the Davidsons came to learn of an evil menace that still dwelled within their new home - a witch named Sabina, who sought out vengeance upon those who had betrayed her, and an ancient demon that referred to itself as "Baal". Throughout this horrific ordeal, John struggled with his growing depression, his new reliance on alcohol, and the fierce urge to keep his family from falling apart... which it sadly was. This harrowing period in their lives would forever haunt the Davidsons, as it did with countless other victims before them.
Set in the North East of England. Names of characters and certain places have been changed to protect identities of those involved.
** About the Author **
Andrew John Bell chose to write this novel after being persuaded by family and friends to share his gruelling encounters at Skipton Close in Newton Aycliffe, England. Though it is fictional in some parts; the nightmares, emotions and demonic encounters entailed within this novel are true to what the author and his family endured. Since writing this novel, it has come to fruition that other unfortunate occupants of the same household have experienced these demonic entities. After taking part in a radio interview in 2019 with Dave Shrader -- a highly respected paranormal investigator -- the author came to learn of several facts that validated the visions he had seen, as a few local historians and paranormal enthusiasts shone light on some truly shocking facts: there was, in fact, known cases of witchcraft in the same area; there was a medieval monastery with alleged ties to sinful acts; there have been similar ghostly occurrences noted from surrounding households; and even a reputable newspaper covered an article that detailed another victim's supernatural ordeal that happened merely two doors away.
To conclude: 'The Skipton Haunting: Tale of the Red Ribbon Witch' is a book that has divided opinion, but that was anticipated. Ultimately, it is up to you as the reader to decide what really happened.
