Description
The Sept/Oct issue of the Kenyon Review is noteworthy in that it inaugurates a series of issues shaped in part by talented guest editors. In this issue, KR Editor at Large Natalie Shapero selected the poetry, gathering it in a section she has intriguingly titled "Speak Low." Featured poets are Edwin Alanís-García, Tongo Eisen-Martin, Jameson Fitzpatrick, Naoko Fujimoto, Jennifer L. Knox, Emily Spencer, Nikki Wallschlaeger, Jillian Weise, and Roy White. The issue also features the winning poems in the 2019 Patricia Grodd Poetry Prize for Young Writers, plus stories by Margot Livesey and Robert Coover and essays by Sally Wen Mao and Brian Trapp.
