CU Poetry was founded June 22, 2013 by a couple of poets hoping to make their poems better. We are committed to building community and strong individual voices through the power and practice of poetry, meeting once a week in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, to workshop our poems and poems in progress with the goal of publication in mind.
We are an open group in a transient town. As such, we have seen many voices pass through our group over the last six years. The poems in this volume represent some of our members as of the summer of 2019. I wish to thank all the poets who contributed poems, as well as all the other members who have listened through countless revisions.
