Description
Cord Cordeu, a migrant worker trying to forget his past, rides into San Antonio, Texas in 1899 and gets caught in a feud between two men: an ex-convict named Simon Steiner, and Jim Peterson, a retired army sergeant.
The dispute concerns a valuable lot of 500 acres that Peterson refuses to sell. Cord wants to work on a farm and live a peaceful life, but that is disrupted when he falls in love with a prostitute.
But as Cord gets in between corruption both in the city and outside of it, he vows to protect the woman he loves and the vulnerable retired army sergeant he befriends.
Courage Stands Alone is perfect for fans of Louis L'Amour, Elmore Leonard, and R.O Lane. A western novel where good prevails, with complex characters, and where a nostalgic past is interwoven.
