Description
Imagine a world where young people speak for themselves with passion and authority. A world where they tell their own stories. This anthology is just that.
The Project Lit program is offered by Mesa Arts Center in partnership with Phonetic Spit, and uses Poetry, Hip Hop, & Spoken Word to promote literacy and activate social and emotional learning in young and emerging adults.
This program and anthology could not have been possible without the dedication of our teaching artist collective: Myrlin Hepworth, Robert "Flipside" Daniels, Mic Maven, Katie Nichols, Monique Espinoza, Patience Briggs, Garrett Pauli, Raejean Alcala, Ashley Freie, Hector Castellanos and Aaron Johnson. Additional thanks to our local partners: Lawn Gnome Publishing & Phonetic Spit.
