Description
Out of the Civil War, and into the violence of the post-war chaos.
Two cousins, having served in opposing armies, return home to Missouri to see their homes and families torn apart in night raids by vigilante gangs. Each is still recovering, both physically and mentally, from the strain of war's horrors.
Realizing that life can never go back to the way the way it was before, they join forces with two now-freed slaves and set out for new opportunities on the western frontier. But starting over is no easy task, even for the youngest settlers.
Suitable for ages: 14 and up (not for younger children)
CONTENT CONTAINS: realistic descriptions of frontier violence and death.
