Description
Laura Simpson was content with her comfortable life, living in a coastal village in the North East of Scotland and running her own shop and tea room. When Laura's elderly grandmother Elsa died, she inherited the family croft in the Scottish Highlands.
When Laura started to sort through grandmothers possessions, she came across a locked suitcase, in it revealed a huge secret her grandmother had kept for over seventy years. Laura found the contents shocking, and could not imagine how her grandmother had survived; she only wished she had had the opportunity to tell her how brave she was. What Elsa had experienced during world War2, was both shocking and inspiring, Laura was amazed and fascinated and needed to find out more,
Laura sets out to discover why her grandmother had kept this terrible secret, she is intrigued with her story, and begins a journey of discovery that will change her cosy existence for ever. What she will carry with her is the thought which helped her grandmother survive, that each day when the sunrises it will bring hope. What is her grandmother past will become her future.
This is a story of survival, renewal and above all HOPE
