One cannot describe a book without acknowledging ALL contributors. There are five authors who are not in the "title" line because KDP has an arbitrary limit of 10 on the number of contributors. The following authors already have a presence and are searchable on Amazon so I knew they would not take affront at being listed last. Irina Agoulnik, Ruth Latta, and Jon Pierce are, by no means, secondary. More importantly, Ann McMillan was both very able author and crazy Executive Editor. I, Duane Chartier, also wrote and edited. THE BOOK... We all have struggled in life and have failed and succeeded but, but the most telling times in our lives have occurred when there was no-one we know who witnessed them, or who would even believe them. Most of us have done incredibly stupid things, sometimes dangerous things. We have all been alone, naked, present, but with virtually nothing else - no selfies, no Instagram, just us looking on at us. These are the stories that should be told! The notion for this book was, in part, from my own life. So many times when I was completely alone to make "the decision", no-one to consult no-one to confide in. So, many times when I "went too far", said too much and could never reel it back in. A character in a recent murder mystery also reminded me very much of the deep and extreme feelings we have but never really talk about; "She felt stripped, not seductively naked... just stripped! All of the protections removed." It is more than a little ironic that these very critical moments in our inner lives are almost never brought out; except, perhaps, in an expensive psychotherapy session. The powerful strange events in our lives that shape our personalities and perceptions are surely the most important and deserve attention - not to be hidden away forever. - Duane R. Chartier
