This is the first short story about Jessica's experiences with self-bondage. They are based on the author's real-life experiences and only slightly fictionalized.

I opened the door to my apartment and threw my jacket on the floor. All I wanted was to put the handcuffs on. In hindsight, a wise person would have checked a few times to make sure the key fit and the cuffs unlocked without problems, but I clicked them on without a second thought. To this day, the sound of handcuffs closing makes me aroused almost instantly, whether I am cuffing myself or hearing the sound on a TV crime drama.

What am I doing? was my first thought. I, a supposed adult, serious woman nearing thirty, had just handcuffed myself in my apartment. But rational thought soon dissipated when the feeling of being restrained took over; I realized how much I had missed it. I must have stood for several minutes and just looked at the cuffs on my wrists, listened to the sound of the short chain rattling, and the metal hitting my watch. It was pure bliss."
