1920s Laugh-out-loud Christmas Cosy
Anty Boisjoly unwraps the peculiar case of the war hero who visits old friends on Christmas morning -- after being murdered on Christmas Eve.
In The Case of the Ghost of Christmas Morning, 1920s Wodehousian clubman, flaneur, idler and sleuth Anty Boisjoly pits his sardonic wits against another pair of impossible murders. This time, Anty Boisjoly's Aunty Boisjoly is the only possible suspect when a murder victim stands his friends a farewell drink at the local, hours after being murdered.
Like all stand-alone Anty Boisjoly mysteries, The Case of the Ghost of Christmas Morning is a clean comic cosy tailored to the tastes of those who feel that Agatha Christie isn't frivolous enough and that Blandings Castle could stand a few more baffling murders.
But what do these readers think? Let's ask a few of them...
Delightful
I hope there are many more books in this series to look forward to and I highly recommend them. ??????????
Come for the language, stay for the mystery
The entire series drips with snark and sarcasm without meanness and is a joy to read. The language is the draw, the mystery's secondary, and all four are well worth the read. I anxiously await Anthony's next adventure. ??????????
An enjoyable cozy
I love the dry humor and the murders are complex. ??????????
So brilliant!
I highly recommend this book and the series to everyone. ??????????
Poirot, move over!
This series is unlike any other. It contains common elements of the genre, but the humor is priceless. I laughed out loud. Can't wait for the next book. ??????????
