Description
The moment he saw her in the window of the train his heart plunged to the ground. He would know her anywhere, Now not only was she here but she had children, they should have been his.
"Hello Eddie, It's good to see you"
"What are you doing here, Addie?" he blurted
It was if a lightning bolt struck her, he hadn't agreed to marry her, as Corrie had told her.
Knowing she had no choice but to convey strength she didn't feel, she straightened her shoulders and with head held high she replied, "I am your wife."
A crueler trick could not have been played on him and he could barely control his anger.
After settling the children in their room she walked into the parlor shutting the door behind her, to face his wrath.
"You tricked me!" he shouted.
"I did nothing of the sort. I simply kept my promise to my dying sister to raise her children as my own and to marry you as she had arranged with you."
"I did not agree to marry you."
"I am your wife whether or not you like it. We are legally bound and I aim to keep my part of the bargain." She declared.
