Description

A CHORUS OF MERLINS is the exciting sequel to WAITING FOR MOONLIGHT (Also available on Amazon)

'Wonderfully written. Clive Jefferys has captured that crucial point in our history through the characters, service and civilian. Clive's telling of the history of that period is accurate. In writing these novels he has paid a fitting tribute to all who experienced that period in our history. Per Ardua Ad Astra.'
(RAF Veteran review)

Southern England. 3rd September 1940. The Battle of Britain Rages.

The RAF faces the prospect of imminent defeat, Nazi Germany masses an invasion fleet and Britain stands at the brink of calamity. Fighter Command's leaders battle with politics on the ground, as the full might of the Luftwaffe gathers overhead.

In the small Kentish town of Sidcup, people reel from the tragedy of friends and family killed by a devastating bomb attack. The Vigar family struggle with the consequences, as the upper-class Delaforts are drawn into the sinister world of the Black Market.

Ken Kendrick hopes to save the Vigars from despair, whilst Raymond Delafort ruthlessly pursues his plan to seize his family's fortune. No longer side-lined from the great aerial battle, 66 Squadron fighter pilot Richard Wilkins is thrilled to be sent to the combat zone. Now based just a few miles away from his lover, the glamorous but capricious Evangeline Delafort... suddenly his life is measured by precious days and nights.

Yet nothing is at it first appears, as a dark web of blackmail, greed, betrayal and murder traps everyone within its grasp.

'A Chorus Of Merlins' is the second book in the series 'A Battle Of Britain Drama' recounting the conflict between two English families during the tumultuous days of 1940.

'Chorus of Merlins is a great sequel, picking up straight from the first book. This writer builds the big historic picture, with characters you care about. The hero is courageous, but naive, facing the challenges of love in the midst of a fight for his life. The climax of the air battle is fascinating and creates a tremendous sense of anxiety amongst the characters and the reader too. The underlying plot about the Delaforts terrible secret is gripping reading as you realise the awful truth about them. Jeffreys is a great horror suspense writer, using lots of twists and turns to reveal a historical mystery.'
(Kindle)

'Another great page turner from Clive Jefferys. Continuing the story of ordinary working people during WW2.
A heady mix of action packed adventure in the skies above London and the coastal corridors and the effects upon the people below, trying their best to carry on regardless as dark forces from across the channel threaten to shatter this idyllic life. Oh, and a touch of supernatural intrigue just hovering below the surface, seemingly guiding events and people with ghoulish glee! A great read.'
