Description
A world-renowned pediatric neurosurgeon, Dr. Noor Rahami, is called upon to join a surgical team of six doctors from around the world to separate less than one-year old conjoined twin girls from Guatemala. The surgery was hosted by the University of Mexico Medical School in Mexico City. Doctor Rahami's wife, Tajal, was extremely concerned about the safety of her husband since Mexico was second behind India for kidnappings. Tajal had been kidnapped less than four years earlier from her neighbor's house in Evergreen, Colorado.
After Tajal had been briefed on all the security measures the University had put in place, she agreed reluctantly for her husband to join the surgery team. After the surgery, she was contacted by a man demanding ransom for her kidnapped husband. From her research concerning kidnappings in Mexico, she knew there was little the U.S. Government would be able to do.
She contacted the lead FBI investigators who had worked on her kidnapping. They too knew there was little to be done through official channels. Using past nongovernment contacts, they solicited help in locating and rescuing the doctor. Again, Jake Littleton, with his warrior brothers, was called upon to hopefully right a wrong since the government's hands were tied.
