Description
The writing in this collection comes from a project run by Writing on the Wall called Write to Work, a skills development course with creativity at its heart. As one of WoW's longest running and most subscribed courses, we were excited to launch this year under the Directions Project with The Women's Organisation, funded by the European Social Fund (ESF). Write to Work supports people in the Liverpool City Region to build their confidence, learn new skills and take those next steps into employment or further training. The course offers 12-weeks of workshops led by published writers and industry professionals, exploring different methods of writing from fiction to blogging, poetry or script, right through to social media and copy writing. It gives learners the chance to explore a host of writing practises and learn first-hand from successful writers doing those exact jobs. We continued to deliver this course online through lockdown, providing a vital space for both participants and staff to stay connected and creative.
