I don't know about you but we have found that your excitement and stories will enchant them.

A is not always for Apple! For example, yes, A is for ANT. But those red ants bite, right? And I'm sure you've woken up in your bed once or twice with dead ones that bit you before you rolled on them.
How often have you bought Water coconuts from the side of the road, seen the man slice it with a cutlass, and pop in a straw. Ohhhh! So fresh, cool and delicious on a hot day! Z is for Zinc: the sound of the rain on the zinc was deafening, but it could put you to sleep at night! Older children who hear will want to hear your stories - "Mum, the ants come into your bed? Really?""You drank from a coconut?"
