An American Agent is dead in Jamaica, a new, deadly opioid ravages the streets, and a bureaucratic conspiracy in Washington, D.C. threatens the fabric of the United States. FBI Agent Mackenzie Lee Malcolm had always believed he was a good man trying to do the "right thing" in life. Yet, when a highly classified, scandal-ridden operation goes terribly wrong in Jamaica, Agent Malcolm's sense of good, evil, and personal responsibility is put to the test.
As Agent Malcolm attempts to find the truth about his involvement in the conspiracy with an international drug cartel, a small journalistic outfit led by Ainsley Schmidt seeks the truth on their own, both for the good of the country and their own personal gain. The combined forces of the FBI and Pacifico Cartel will do anything to ensure this embarrassing conspiracy forged for profit is not revealed to the world, even if that means causing more domestic chaos and maligning the family of the dead Agent. As Americans across the country begin to die, and the politics of Washington become even dirtier, the motivations and integrity of everyone involved are brought into the daylight. The institution of government has failed to protect its people from harm as the evils of this world inflict pain upon the most vulnerable. The chance of redemption for Agent Malcolm and the country is slipping away.
