Description
Not going to lie--it's been a tough couple of years. Civil unrest, climate change and a pandemic are just at the top of the list. Each person has their own struggles, too, that aren't headlines but instead heart-tender burdens they carry with them daily. It's in these times we look for strength from those who are with us now or made a lasting impact in the past. These are the stories of the parents, siblings, friends, teachers and others who have lifted us up through tough (and tougher) times.
Editor's Note: Ten years ago we were ten years removed from 9-11 and my Done for You Book Publishing company was looking for a way to give my subscribers a way to mark the occasion. We produced "The Gratitude Book Project: A Celebration of Personal Heroes." It marked a milestone since that September day no one will forget--one of time and distance and, for most, healing. Now it's ten years after that. I wanted to revisit the theme of personal heroes once again and feel that although the time and distance from 9-11 has helped more with that healing, other things have caused more strife and tears in the fabric of our country and the world. It seems like it's time once again not to look at those who bring us down and tell them what's wrong, but instead focus on those who lift us up, no matter the circumstances, and help us see what's right.
It's time to put the attention--and the praise--on our personal heroes.
