Description

Two different lives...
Brought together by providence...
Queen Sati rules her city with wisdom and grace. She has the respect of her people, knowledge of the gods, and faith that her plans to build a better tomorrow will lead them into a brighter future.

Ahm is a teen coming into her own. Living near the market square of the city with her mother, the girl's insight, compassion, and beauty has everyone she comes in contact with seeing her as a jewel of Egypt.

When a chance encounter between the two turns into a friendship, both Sati and Ahm will be tested beyond what either could have wanted.

Quotes:

"Remember, the heart and intuition of a woman are her most attractive features."

"Most that turn to a lifestyle of thievery are there because of a lack of options, not because they actually want to be."

"Any culture that values its women so little is doomed."

Author comments:
I wanted something short and easy for readers to enjoy, but ensure it had plenty of heart. This Egyptian concept was right up my alley. Having fallen in love with such books as Lord of the Flies and Animal Farm as a young reader, I love writing books that aren't simply black and white, good vs. evil. I want readers to feel respected by providing what I hope are good stories, while also giving food for thought.
