Description
1982
Having met while working at a holiday camp in the south of England, new-found friends Hattie and Martha embark on a winter adventure to Athens.
After an arduous three day bus trip through Europe, they eventually arrive in the thriving capital city. Self confessed casual sex addict Hattie is up to her old tricks as Martha's concerns for her safety and well-being increase.
When a roll of developed film is left anonymously at the Pella Inn where they are staying, it seems likely that someone is having them followed, taking photos of them while sightseeing.
Deciding to leave the city for a while, they secure work as au pairs in a wealthy Athenian coastal suburb. Mr and Mrs Drakos, a doctor and psychiatrist, are not as professional as they portray as the girls try in vain to regain the order and respect of three Greek children, with Yiayia in tow.
Will the arrival of Hattie's cousin, Demi, also an au pair, be the answer to their quest?
Can Hattie's psychiatric sessions with Mr Drakos, cure her of her one night stand addiction and assure her there is no one stalking her?
Will Martha's dented ego from a capricious fling with an American Air Force man at the nearby Glyfada base, propel her to pursue her adventures and spread her wings?
Just who will stay in the city and who will venture on to pastures new?
There's just something about Athens!
