Description
As police cutbacks bite, Glasgow's murder squad have been dispatched to the four corners of Scotland, leaving DCI Pat Curzon short of manpower and forced to share his post with an English incomer - DCI Tommy McDermott.
While reluctantly meeting his new partner off the train at midnight, Curzon receives news of a dead body being thrown into the Forth and Clyde Canal. The two DCI's leap straight into action, but it soon becomes apparent that the duo aren't going to get along.
So, gritting his teeth, a suspicious Curzon must endure McDermott's company and bad behaviour while touring the rainy city together to capture their killer.
A seemingly mundane murder fast takes on many angles, not least a connection with another serious Glasgow crime committed thirty-three years previously.
Will McDermott's presence help or hinder Curzon's progress?
Can the two men ever be friends? Or is the Englishman going to stitch the Scotsman up and steal his job?
