Torlach, a young boy from Ériu is abducted from his native land and sold into slavery across the Hibernian Sea. He is rescued by Roman legions and begins his new life as an auxiliary soldier in the Roman army. He grows into a giant of a man, a fearless warrior and respected servant of the empire.
