On his way out west, Nate stops in a small town he thought he knew well. His friend tells him big trouble is brewing in town. The newly hired Sheriff sees his new job as a meal ticket to his own wealth. He has imposed special fees and taxes on the merchants -- even a new tax on business profits to support his brand of law and order.

People aren't liking the way he wants to run things, but no one is strong enough to stand up to the legitimate law in town, until Nate shows up. Nate never one to shirk from injustice takes matters into his own hands. He helps drive the crooked lawman out and then pursues him to somewhere he knows even better.

Freedom was a unique town, established by mostly runaway slaves, Mexicans and other 'outsiders' on the far west frontier. Outside of the norms of the established states, here they could live their lives without persecution and have some freedom... so they named the town "Freedom". Nate and Freedom have a history, and what happens next will change him.

Lil Nate, One-Eye Jack, Cotton, even Jarel and Deacon, Nate's good friends, all arrive to help him in his quest for justice.
