Description
'It isn't just soldiers who die in wartime.'
Comments one of the characters in this eclectic collection of short stories and poems in aid of the Ukraine on the subject of war including the English Civil War, Vietnam, a dystopian tale plus a ghost story and gentle love story from World War Two.
It was not long ago that we were all facing queuing for shops and shortages of food (and toilet paper), but at least we had shops, and we did not have to dodge snipers' bullets and shells in order to reach them.
As we sit safe in our respective homes we may undergo a certain "there but for the grace of God" feeling; in these times conflict can suddenly arise and affect anyone.
When we see newspaper stories and TV news clips we are thankful that we have homes, even if the kitchen sink is prone to block or the conservatory has a sprung a leak, and we are grateful that our families are safe.
Therefore a select group of international authors from the UK, USA and Germany gathered to produce an anthology of short stories and poems in aid of the people in Ukraine, who are ordinary people, just like us, as "It isn't just soldiers who die in wartime."
All proceeds will be paid via the Red Cross.
