Description
The Portable Wargame evolved over several years, and the first book about it was published in 2017. Several more have followed, and the rules have proven popular with wargamers who want to fight battles on a regular basis but who resources of time and space are limited.
Over time, several variants have been written, some of which have been published. The most recent innovation has been the development of the Fast Play 3 x 3 Portable Wargame (FP3x3PW for short), which uses a three-by-three gridded tabletop and a maximum of six units (plus a general) per side. Since this new version of the rules was launched in early 2022, it has sparked a lot of interest and has generated a rapid growth in new sets of period-specific rules.
The Portable Wargame Compendium has been compiled from contributions from members of Portable Wargaming community. The Compendium has been edited by Bob Cordery and includes contributions from David Barnes, Justin Barrett, Bob Cordery, Mark Cordone, Arthur Harman, Marc Pavone, Martin Rapier, and Mike Taber.
