Description
I need my job in order to survive, and losing it should be my greatest fear. However, what I fear most is ever exchanging a word with my boss. I have seen her a time or two but I try not to make eye contact. The stories I overhear, and the employees who return crying after a meeting with her, are reasons enough to stay the hell out of her way.
Today, my supervisor decides to be cruel and orders me to take an important document to my boss's office. On shaky legs I enter, and as I quickly put down the folder to get the hell out of there, I accidentally knock over her pen holder, sending pens flying all over her office floor. I quickly pick them up, but a few roll under her desk. I go under to get the last of them when I hear the office door open. I panic and curl up into a ball as my boss walks to her chair and sits, crossing her beautiful long legs in front of me.
What will my future be like after this moment? How can I see anything wonderful coming from this when fear is showing me nothing but devastation? I start to pray that she would rush out to a meeting, but knowing my luck, it will only take a second for her to find me hiding there - under her desk.
