Description
FRACKED is a four-book serialized novel blending historical fiction and fantasy. The story begins in the desert of modern-day California as the local sheriff investigates a murder at a fracking site. Nearby residents -- two former Black Panthers, a Vietnam Vet, a retired teacher and a newly-arrived divorcee -- believe the fracking site is actually a portal to hell.
They're not wrong.
As the novel unfolds over four parts, demons real and imagined will be unveiled in the context of the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s, the killing fields of Vietnam, the Civil War, and the American frontier.
In this first installment, 52-year-old Stephanie Matthews inherits a house in an over-55 community after the sudden death of her aunt. As demons emerge from a nearby fracking site, Stephanie teams up with her neighbors to stop them. She also wants answers about her aunt's death, but sheriff's deputy Frank Martin assures her it was natural causes.
That doesn't exactly put an end to the matter.
FRACKED is a dramedy from Maureen Driscoll, a former writer for Jimmy Kimmel Live. It's a four-part epic about the battle between good and evil, and the many shades of grey in-between.
