Description
Hero Pass. There is no safer route in the north between the eastern and western halves of the continent. In fact, there are no other routes at all. It is the only one, a gift to the good peoples of the world from the great hero after which it had been named. Except... it shouldn't be any of those things.
Dragon Pass. That was the name Kix remembered, a winding route through mountain cliffs which ever shimmered with ruby scales and shook with tremendous roars. That was the sort of place it should be, a several millennia old feasting ground for the powerful and uncontrollable, not some trade route for miserable insects.
The mountains are certainly the same, though, and the pass lies along the same route through them. Both descriptions simply can not be true at once. Only one name can fit, and with the path to being restored to her proper self leading east through the mountains, the demon king will get the chance to see for herself whether dragons still rule those peaks or if more has changed since her last resurrection than just her infuriatingly squishy, new form.
