Description
The first anniversary of Darcy and Lizzy's wedding is approaching.
In order to placate certain members of their families, they decide to host a celebration at Pemberley, after which they plan to take a romantic anniversary trip to Italy.
A problem arises however. Will Lydia Wickham accept the invitation if her husband is forbidden entry to Pemberley? Thanks to Georgiana, however, an ingenious solution is found. While Lydia is welcome at Pemberley House itself, Wickham must stay at Rushwood Lodge, the 'castle in the forest' within the grounds.
It is a cold and miserable place and Wickham's stay is highly uncomfortable. However, he is given the chance to redeem himself when the husband of one of Darcy's servants is defrauded of his life savings. After all, thinks Lizzy, who would know about fraud better than Wickham?
Surprisingly, Mr and Mrs Wood-Carton do not attend the celebrations (they have not been invited but that rarely makes much difference). But do they still male their presence felt?
This is a funny and affectionate continuation of Jane Austen's beloved novel showing how Darcy and Lizzy celebrate the first anniversary of their wedding.
