Soon after Samy moves to the small town of Andantera in Puerto Rico, she finds the body of a man near her home in the same place a treasure is rumored to be buried. According to local legend, two Spanish pirates defected from their ship and buried a stolen treasure on the same hilltop where Sandy finds the body. Suspecting foul play, a police detective assigned to this case and Samy investigate the murder. They learn that shortly before he was killed, the dead man was pressured by his wife to take out life insurance in the amount of one million dollars. At the same time, the murder reawakens local interest in the treasure. Villagers, who have been searching for the treasure for years, are joined by a history professor, who claims to have found written evidence in a museum in Spain about the existence of the treasure. When the murder investigation and the treasure hunt become entangled, Samy must figure out if the murder motive was tied to the treasure or the life insurance policy, or both?
