When DS Charlie Young, who has worked on some of London's biggest murder cases, arrives at his new place of work in the small Welsh town of Monmouth, his new boss warns him that the 'big cases' won't come round as frequently as he is used to. Charlie is frustrated -- it hadn't been his choice to relocate.

But just hours into his new job, a woman is reported missing, and the following day, her body is found -- Charlie quickly finds himself working on a case unlike any other he has worked on before.
