Description
Ukrainian diary: How I'm surviving during this war.
Imagine that you live an ordinary measured life. You have your own apartment, family, business, plans, dreams. But at one moment everything collapses, your life is divided into "before" and "after". The war in the very center of Europe, in Ukraine, nullifies your life and your achievements. Destroys everything, that was close and valuable to you. And your only task is to survive no matter how, to survive by overcoming daily challenges: flying missiles and drones overhead, explosions, destructions, lack of electricity, water and heat, accepting this new terrible reality.
On February 24, 2022, my "ordinary" life stopped being ordinary. I, the creator of this diary, a Ukrainian girl from Donbass, who moved from her hometown, because of Russia's barbaric attack on Ukraine in 2014, again found myself in the midst of military events in Kyiv. Hardships of this war became a part of my miserable life. In this memoir, I describe my own life, my personal experiences and emotions from the first day of the attack on our country. War is not only about the battlefields, trenches and the soldiers, their blitzkriegs and defeats. Primarily, war is about the lives of ordinary civilians, who are not prepared for the cruelty and violence that they witness. It is a daily suffocating horror, fear of death and torment, it is the pain of loss, shock from the destruction of not only buildings, but also the world around you. But it is also a tale of the incredible unification of an entire nation. It is a hope for the best and we yearn for the only and most important thing now - Victory.
