Description

"The first anti-woke novel ever published - and it's hysterical." Marcia Gaines
This is the story of Jessica Harper, a wife and mom living on Georgia's coast, whose life falls apart in the space of 48 hours after she outs herself as "not woke" at a dinner party.

A chain reaction of events - including a disastrous appearance on a shock jock's radio show - causes her to lose her friends, her job and (nearly) her sanity.

But when a local newspaper owner offers her the chance to head up a new magazine, she thinks her problems are over... when in fact they're only just beginning. Now Jess finds herself plunged into the mystery of who stole the statue of the town's founding father, why legendary author Annalee Calhoun vanished in 1970 and who's trying to sabotage her magazine before it's even hit the streets...
This rich satirical novel features an unforgettable palette of characters including Jess's woke nemesis Kayla Cobb, her alcoholic saviour Porter Montrose, loyal husband Brandon, ditzy best friend April and a motley assortment of statue removers, knee takers, social justice warriors, semi-mythical authors, devious spies and a ragbag army of eccentric journalists.

Oh, and there's a car-munching alligator called Colin Hanks.

At the heart of the story is one big question: should she back down to the woke mob or stand up to them and risk losing everything?

*****

"A huge breath of fresh air. Let's hope this is the first of many more anti-woke novels to come."

"The anti-woke angle aside, this is hysterically funny. I would consider it a great comic novel up there with The Thursday Murder Club series, Bridget Jones' Diary and A Confederacy of Dunces."

"Finally someone has done it, published some conservative fiction that skewers the woke nonsense. I hope it sells a million copies and the publishing industry weeps for a long time."

"It's sunshine between two covers. I laughed from start to finish at this wonderful tale of an everyday, conservative Georgia mom who takes on the local wokerati in her hometown of Truvy City. Have recommended to all my Republican friends."

"I finished it, bought three copies for friends online and then started reading it again."

"Masterfully done. It's about real life and real people. Unwoke and so funny. A much overdue kick in the teeth for the woke poseurs."

"Pure bliss. What a book. Joyful. Sequel, please!"
