Description
The pressures of keeping up with each other has catapulted us into dangerous territory by convincing women and young girls that they must do things a specific way in order to be considered beautiful. The peer pressure has reached new levels, and someone needs to be bold enough to speak up.
A pretty face does not represent a kind heart or optimal health. Marketing buzz words like wellness and holistic are so overused that we tend to overlook the wool that is so blatantly being pulled over our eyes.
I find fault in the spa industry with their primary focus on selling us crap that we don't need. Rather than considering stress levels, diet, and lifestyle being factored into the reason skin conditions happen, they make us believe they are the result of not using a specialized product.
The misguided illusion that health comes from topical products, looking like a computer-generated image, or marketing the concept of what the powers that be say beauty is supposed to look like has created a disempowered society with low self-esteem.
There is a time and place for products, but the belief that a pill or a quick fix is the solution to years of poor choices is the foundation for so much misguided advice.
All skin conditions are symptoms, a form of communication your body speaks to let you know something is wrong or in need of attention. It's time to start listening to the messages provided by the body and stop trying to silence it.
