Description

Captain James Marcus leads his starship on a superluminal mission toward the Orion Nebula in response to a mysterious alien transmission. With his civilization on the verge of extinction from war, ecocide, and starvation, Marcus and his starship are Earth's last hope for salvation. Accompanied by commander Marion Uperday, chief science officer Hans Tamarac, chief engineer Bernie "Mac" Drummond, and chief medical officer Bjorn Maelstrom, Starship Orion approaches its namesake, unaware that its officers and crew are closing on an enemy from hell.

Starship Orion is Gary Naiman's fifteenth novel. One of his books P.P.M. is being considered for a major motion picture.

First Amazon Reviews:
"I fiercely honor the beautiful mind that penned this tale of valor against betrayal. It was a thoroughly enjoyable read and ignites my love for Star Trek era space drama even more!" (BR Boise 3/25)

"A dangerous Starfleet superluminal mission. The story is filled with plausible science, like reasonable advancements in faster-than-light space travel and the concept of time travel. Commander Marcus is a relatable character. I enjoyed his relationship drama as well as his decisions on this space adventure. The conversations are snappy and the pace is brisk. It has an ending that I found both surprising and profound. I want one of those starships, oh, and a sleep bubble." (W. Grand 1/25)

"I discovered Naiman recently, and he is now one of my favorite authors. In this one, he blends time-travel science fiction with political thrill. The characters are solid. Everything seemed based on real scientific theory. The plot was good, with a flawed but decent main character. There was a nice dilemma and a twist toward the end. Overall, I recommend this book to lovers of science fiction thrillers." (Sureshot 11/24)

"It kept my interest. A type of Star Trek genre story with alien creatures. The plot advances rapidly. A good read for an airline flight." (AC 9/24)
