Description

"You want to know the truth? Had I not come along, I think Israel would have maybe been destroyed by now. Okay?"

Published in Hebrew in Israel in early December 2021, Trump's Peace was the first book about Trump's signature foreign policy achievements in the Middle East and quickly became a bestseller. It is based on a series of exclusive conversations between former US President Donald Trump and senior Israeli journalist Barak Ravid, as well as interviews with US secretaries of state, senior advisors and diplomats in capitals across the Middle East, and even secret service agents intimately involved in Israel's covert diplomatic efforts.

President Trump's policies and decisions fundamentally reshaped the geopolitical map of the Middle East. The Abraham Accords, brokered by his administration, brought about peace and normalization between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco and Sudan. The only part of Trump's legacy to receive bipartisan domestic praise and widespread global support, the accords could be considered the biggest diplomatic breakthrough of the century in the Middle East peace process.

"[Netanyahu] was very early [to congratulate Biden on the election results]. Like, earlier than most. I haven't spoken to him since. Fuck him. "

In his book, Ravid goes behind the scenes of Trump's term in office and delivers exclusive insights into the secret discussions and agreements between Israel and the Gulf states. Many of the stories told here -- especially those regarding the president's relationship with Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu -- have never been told before. With unrivaled access in Jerusalem, Washington, DC, Abu Dhabi, Manama and Rabat, Ravid is able to offer the most comprehensive, engaging and balanced account yet of those four dramatic years in the Middle East. This latest edition also includes a new chapter on the legacy of the accords and the Biden administration's relationship with them.
• "Trump's Peace is a blockbuster of a book... Ravid delivers a mesmerizing tick-tock of the making of the Abraham Accords, the normalization of Israel's relations with four non-neighboring Arab states... The result is a well-paced and engrossing read." - The Guardian

• "Trump's Peace is a fluent description of the fascinating political and diplomatic engagements between Israel, the US and the Arab world in the last five years. Ravid's book is eye opening and rich with information that was whispered in closed rooms." - Haaretz

Barak Ravid is the Middle East correspondent for Axios and the diplomatic correspondent for Walla! News in Israel. One of the most senior reporters in his field in Israel, he started his journalistic career in 2005 as a diplomatic correspondent for NRG. He then spent a decade as the diplomatic correspondent and columnist for the Haaretz daily, before moving to television from 2017 to 2020 as Channel 13's diplomatic correspondent. He is a regular presence on US television networks, including CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, CBS and Newsmax. He has a highly visible social media presence, and his weekly "Axios from Tel Aviv" newsletter is read by tens of thousands of subscribers in Washington and around the world.

Ravid has spent almost two decades covering Israel's national security and foreign policy, as well as US policy in the Middle East. He has reported from more than 30 capitals in five continents and covered five Israeli prime ministers and four US presidents. During his career, he has published hundreds of exclusive stories on the Middle East. From 2019 to 2020, he published two series of reports on the then-secret ties between Israel and the Gulf states. Several months later, the Abraham Accords were signed.
