Description
????? Second Chance, Single Dad, Widow, Soulmates, Small Town Abroad, Found Family with way too many lemons.
I've always believed Italy is magic -- the kind with linguini sunsets and air fresh with basil. The kind where fate can't be ignored.
Years ago, I fell hopelessly in love with Colt Andrews in Paris. He was my person. Kind, funny, and impossibly handsome with those sandy-brown curls. But when we got home, his powerful Senator father forced him to marry his ex-girlfriend, and I lost him to a life that was never supposed to be his.
I tried to move on. Got married. Built a life. Then I found my husband having sex in our kitchen with our mixed doubles pickleball partners, who apparently wanted to become a throuple. So,I did what any sane woman would do: first I bleached the kitchen counters, then I ran to Tuscany.
My villa has moody plumbing, shutters that fall off in the wind, and possibly a mongoose in the walls. But it's a place I chose, not what someone else thinks I should have. It's home.
And then Colt shows up. Widowed, raising two girls alone, and still heartbreakingly the man I fell for all those years ago. Those forearms. That smile. The way he looks at me like no time has passed at all.
It's messy and complicated with rabid animals, too many lemons (both real and metaphorical), secrets we've been carrying for years, and kisses that still taste like forever. His kids are grieving. My heart is guarded. And somehow, we're fumbling our way back to each other in the most chaotic, beautiful way possible.
If this works out, I'll know for certain Italy is magic. I really, really hope it's magic.
Because when life gives you lemons? Make limoncello.
