Verified Reviews: In the Company of Men

I really enjoyed this book. A very strong woman Etta, becomes responsible for her sick mother and pregnant sister, with few resources to support them all. It's post war, so women's roles are not widely respected. Etta becomes a fill in school teacher in a small town outside of Brandon MB. She finds it a mix of wonderfully supportive people, and a few very antagonist ones. Add in a disappearance, and you have a book full of wonderful people, drama, and suspense.

I totally enjoyed "In the Company of Men". I love any book that is historical but has romance and the struggles faced by women at the turn of the century. Throw in the romance and a bit of mystery and I am a happy girl!!"

Once again, I found myself in the thralls of whipping through another one of Carolyn Finch's novels. The Cafe on Crescent was especially hard to put down.
