A reminder that it is in the little moments that we impact a person's life
The nature of the book made me look back upon my life and appreciate those moments when someone extended me a helping hand or even did as little as checking up on me when I did not even know I needed it. If you would like to feel genuinely warm and fuzzy inside from relatable content, this might be the book you have been looking for. It is so simple and beautiful that I could not help but keep reading and seeing what other way people would be a spark of light in a dark world.

Strangers & Angels by Gabe Reaume... It's a terrific read by a city manager here in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. I was struck by something one of the readers noted in a review.
Here's what she wrote: It's a reminder that it is in the little moments that we impact a person's life.
That's the career of a public servant in a nutshell. I know it's more complicated than that, but at its heart, public service has an impact on people's lives. In big ways and in small, what public servants do matters. They all matter.
I wish everyone in public service could read this review or, better yet, read the book. They should know that what they do -- even the small things, maybe especially the small things -- has an impact.
I think public servants, especially those in local government, could use a sign of their own to remind them of their importance in the world. It could read: It's in the little moments that we impact a person's life.
