Description
It was the queue to end all queues.
The queue British people had been in training for their whole lives.
A true British tradition.
There were two types of people. Those in the queue and those watching the queue.
It was 'The Queen's Queue'.
As I snaked my way along the Southbank, I felt a sense of responsibility. I was representing all those that couldn't be there, past and present. Kay from the office, Sarah my sister with a bad back, my elderly parents. Not forgetting all those that had been part of the Queen's reign that had now passed.
It was up to us, the great British public, to pay our respects. It was our duty on behalf of millions of people the world over. After all, the Queen had certainly paid her duty. It was time we paid ours.
