Westmore Colebroke a wealthy solicitor, has been missing for three months. He vanished after with drawing a large amount of money from his friend and financial advisor Francis Elburton. He is in a precarious position. The day Colebroke disappeared his annoying housekeeper went to Elburton looking for him. To get rid of her Elburton replied that Colebroke had probably gone to London on business. The housekeeper accepted this as fact and told everybody this and people have come to believe that Elburton is in communication with Colebroke. Only Elburton knows he is missing and pleads with his friend Noel Pinson, barrister and gifted amateur detective to find Colebroke. Helped by retired detective Joe Grainger, Pinson investigates the strange disappearance of Westmore Colebroke.
First published in 1927, this is a Golden Age Murder Mystery Thriller.
R.A.J. WALLING (Robert Alfred John) (1869-1949) was was incredibly prolific author who wrote over thirty crime novels as well as numerous biographies, Travel, history and other non-fiction works.
This is the second Noel Pinson mystery.
