Description
Meagan Stewart is running for her life and has ended up in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, in the Amish country. She saw her ex-boss doing something that he shouldn't have been doing. When she spoke up, he decided it was time to silence her.
Joshua King lives a clean, modest life in the Amish community he grew up in. He had his rumspringa and saw how his dad lived twenty-five years ago before marrying his mother in the Amish country. All he knew about his father's past life was that it was dangerous as he had enforced the law.
Meagan's in luck because William King knew her father when he worked as a police officer. He takes her in under the roof of his home as Elizabeth King, his niece. It's hard to adjust to change, but Meagan soon learns to be comfortable in plain clothes, the prayer kapps, and the aprons.
Joshua isn't sure how he feels about this supposed cousin popping up out of the blue. His father won't say anything about where she came from. She may be his cousin, of course, since his father's family all lives outside the Amish community.
But what happens when Meagan starts to have feelings for Joshua and suspects that he feels the same way about her? Will Meagan be trapped in the Amish community? Will everyone in the community get a chance to experience Christmas?
