Description
Oliver's Travels tells of the adventures of a young man exploring the world on a shoestring budget. He begins his travels in this second book of the series in Marseilles, France. Next up is fantastical, humanistic Barcelona where he explores among other delights, Gaudi's Parc Guell and Sagrada Familia. From here he takes the rail to Granada, home of the Alhambra and its magnificent Moorish architecture. His hostel recommends a crazy pirate bar where he gets down to a fascinating new genre of music. Too, it is here that his senses are slayed by world-class gitano flamenco performers. Oliver continues his travels across Spain to the bullfighting town of Ronda, then gorgeous Cadiz on the eastern coast, then down to the magnificent kite-flyer surfs of Tarifa. From here Oliver crosses the Strait and descends into the mysterious heart of Africa. Oliver falls into otherworldy experiences at every turn, finding the highs and lows of vastly different cultures, and the streets that run through them.
The second book of the Oliver's Travels series, it is a wildly entertaining must-read for adventurers with backpacks and dreamers who will some day... all who wish to feel deeply the wonderful world we live in.
